Be a....Bombshell Cosmetics Eyeshadow Quad in Bora Bora Review

I bought this...and still no affiliate links...

With summer (hopefully) only a few months away, I am looking forward to all the summer beauty products out there. In the March bag, Ipsy included a summer eyeshadow quad from Be A...Bombshell Cosmetics.

This is a new-to-me company and I was excited to try it out. Should you be excited?

Like I said, I got this full sized product in my Ipsy bag and according to the company's website, it retails for $16. There are four total quads in their collection and Bora Bora is one of the two non-neutral quads.

Take a look at these colors, all on my arm, in natural light, over Pixi Beauty's Flawless Beauty Primer--

All the colors are slightly frosty, and on my eyes it translated into a lovely sheen. Starlet is a red-toned brown with fine silver shimmer. Boar Bora is a teal with a fine golden shimmer. Risky Business is a golden frost with hints of red shimmer. Finally, Rock Bottom is red with brown under undertones with a red frost finish.

For the swatches, I really had to dig my brush into the pan and pat heavily in order to get the moderately decent colors you see above. While the colors aren't powdery, the pigment is just not there unless you are willing to pat, pat, pat. When the color is finally built up, it is still not as rich as one would expect, and is highly frosted.

On my lids, it was pretty much the same story. I had to keep coming back, patting like a mad woman, loading up my brush with a significant amount of product to get any color payoff, due to the lack of pigment in the shadows. Blending made the colors frosty and they disappeared, leading to more product being used. Beauty is such a vicious cycle.

Starlet on upper lash line, Bora Bora on lid, Risky Buisness to blend out Bora Bora,
and Rock Bottom on lower outer lash line.

Wear is not what I would expect out of eyeshadows that cost $4 a pan either. Over Urban Decay Primer Potion, I saw fading and creasing after only three hours. On bare skin, the wear was closer to two on my slightly oily lids. Disappoint.

The compact felt light, hollow, and very cheap. I would expect it to be at a lower price point and not up close to better brands like Urban Decay or Bare Essentials. Heck, Revlon has more substantial and better compacts. Wet N Wild does too.

Overall, this quad is disappointing. I like the colors in the compact but that's where I stop liking it. It is overpriced and there are better formulations to be found for the same price or cheaper out there. Might be worth it if it was much cheaper, like Wet N Wild cheap.

Be A....Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in Bora Bora is $16 and is sold exclusively through their website. I got my full-sized version through my March Ipsy bag.

TL;DR--DISAPPOINTING QUAD. TOO EXPENSIVE. LACKS PIGMENT. SHORT WEAR
TIME, EVEN WITH PRIMER. FEELS CHEAP.
