Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner Review

I bought both of my eyeliners...and no affiliate links either!

Stila has brought out some amazing colors in their Spring line and I am happy to report I got my little claws in two of the brightest ones they had--Turquoise and Mint Julep!

Jump right on into Spring with me!

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner has 22 shades for Spring. They range from yellow and mint julep to your more traditional espresso and damsel, which is a dark gray-black. I was immediately attracted to turquoise and being a Kentucky girl, born and raised on horses and the Derby, mint julep had to come home too.

Now, I am a die-hard fan of Urban Decay's 24/7 liners. I am always up to try any other brand's pencils, but i t seems as if no one can live up to their colors or awesome formulas. Some colors still make my eyes swell or have some issues with smudging (I see you Stash!) but really, I can pick up just about any color and know it will perform well and last all day.

Now I have a second formula I can say that about, opening my world up to even more colors!

Stila is $20 like the Urban Decay pencils and suffers from none of the downfalls of sharping. These are screw-up automatic liners. I can't get them as sharp as a pencil, but I don't lose as much product either.

The wear is also excellent. The color did not imprint to my eyelid after application, which is sometimes a problem with various eyeliners, and it stayed put for over 10 hours without budging, fudging, fading, or running away. Always nice. Plus--no staining upon removal! Score!

These Stila liners also glide across my lid well and are opaque from the get-go. I only went back over my line to smooth it out because I suffer from kinda wrinkly lids and all sorts of liners skip little places. Sometimes, liners tug, but Stila does not so lining isn't painful.

Plus, the colors! Ugh. So pretty! Urban Decay amazingly doesn't have such pretty pastels and I am glad I can get my Spring pastel fix finally in liner form.

Perfect Spring colors, I say.

Now, you are next going to wonder if they look akward or too much on your eyes. I don't believe so. Queen of Blending on Youtube and Facebook has done many, many looks using turquoise, mint julep, and even yellow. If her more avaunt garde approach to makeup isn't for you, The Daily Glamour on Facebook has used turquoise in a way that might suit your fancy. Or you might like mine even :) But whatever you do, don't be afraid of how bright these are! You can always smudge them out or use them to brighten up a neutral look.

Full face so you can see how it looks all pulled together--

See? Not so scary after all!

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liners are available in 22 colors and can be purchased (like I did mine) at Ulta, Stila.com, or any other place Stila is sold for $20.

TL;DR--AS GOOD AS URBAN DECAY. BRIGHT. PRETTY. EASY TO USE. LASTS.
