Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer Review

I bought this...and no affiliate links either!

Let me lead off by saying, I will post with this review a full face (a face-of-the-day or FOTD if you will) look after the review of Pixi Primer using the Ipsy items I received for March. You will finally see how the Bora Bora eyeshadow quad, the Marvelous Moxie lipstick, and this primer all play together for a summer look I call "Where is my swimmy suit?"

But first things first--the Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer!

Clicky Clicky!

The Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer (ugh! Such a mouthfull!) is a hydrating primer in a golden peach color that contains pearl extract to give the skin a natural, healthy glow. Below is the primer just on my skin, and then blended into my skin.

It is a peach-colored primer that glides across skin and does impart a certain glow that really brighten ups skin without shimmer or sparkles to make you look like a bright disco ball. It is also hydrating which is excellent.

I see this being a good primer for winter when the skin is decidedly un-glowing and dry. I used it so I could hopefully capture some of the glow of summer in the middle of the weird remnants of winter here in Kentucky.

It did give my skin a glow.It did hold my Pond's BB Cream down an hour longer than it's typical 4 hour wear-time. And it did actually cancel the redness in my cheeks because of it's  peachy color but that's where my like for this stopped.

First, I am a vampire in the winter. A transparent vampire. Warm, peach, and glowing equals visible difference between face and neck. Also, it oxidized my BB Cream a bit to make the difference worse. In the full face below, I actually tried not to get my neck and chest in the picture because it was noticeable. It only got worse as the day went on.

And this vampire also has sensitive skin. I think everyone's skin is sensitive to varying degrees, so like always, your experiences are different than mine and keep that in mind. When I took off my makeup, I found I had a minor breakout and increased redness across my cheeks. Whaa-waaa. Would have worked beautifully for summer, I think if it wasn't for that.

Pixi Beauty is sold exclusively in the US through Target (in stores or online) and on Pixi's website. Both places have mini tubes, which is what I got through Ipsy, available for $9, and then full sized glass pumps for $22.

TL; DR--BROKE OUT. WRONG COLOR FOR A VAMPIRE. PRETTY, PEARL FINISH. DID INCREASE BB CREAM WEAR TIME.

Now for the FOTD! WOOOO! I, once again, bought all this.

I call it-- "Where is my swimmy suit?" in honor of my desire to go swimming outside in the sun sometime soon. I think this would work well just coming out of the pool (or make it look as if you did) and it is actually very quick to do.

First the eyes using Be A Bombshell's Bora Bora Eyeshadow quad which I reviewed here over top of Urban Decay's Primer Potion.

Starlet closest to lash line, Bora Bora all over the lid, Risky Buisness to blend out Bora Bora,
and Rock Bottom on the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line.

Then Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer all over the face. Pond's BB Cream layered over the primer. I prime everything just about.
I used Maybelline's Dream Sun cream (which is now d/c) to highlight and bronze the top of my cheekbones.
Next, I cheat and use the Champagne color out of the LORAC Pro Palette as a brow highlight and the shade Espresso to do my brows.
After that I use bareMineral's Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Get Ready, which I reviewed here to get the my-lips-but-better look since my lips get really patchy in color.
Final step, as always is using Lancome's Hynose Star mascara.

Look--a group shot of my lovelies! Everything I used minus the mascara and my fingers :)

One final full face! Hope you enjoyed!
