MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Cream in Neutralize

I bought this (no affiliate links!)

According to MAC's site, Prep + Prime CC Cream is "a multitasking formula that evens skin tone, increases luminosity, and inhibits oily shine while protecting from harmful UVA/UVB rays. It is a moisturizing primer that also keeps skin fresh and hydrated throughout the day." It comes in four colored formulas, of which I got Neutralize to help with my chronic redness and uneven skin tone.

I bought this on the recommendation of Muse over at Musings of a Muse because I was looking for a good primer (which I had not found) that didn't dry out my already winter-dry skin and maybe contained some sort of SPF. This fit the bill and it happened that the color I was recommended might even help with some other issues. Would it work at all?

MAC Prep + Prime CC Cream in Neutralize swatched on my wrist

Look! I made a before and after side-by-side!

Now one at a time in slightly different light so you can really see--

BEFORE--

Nude skin. Tired woman.

AFTER using the CC cream--
After using MAC Prep + Prime.

Much better I think.

It also doesn't dry out my skin over the hours or cause it to turn into an oil slick anywhere on my face. While nothing helps with my large cheek pores, it doesn't allow my foundation to settle into them. Wear of my IT Cosmetics CC Cream (hahaha double CC Cream!) is extended into the 8 and more hours region with zero problems.  I normally am missing foundation on my face after that long, but this primer doesn't make it budge. It also doesn't break me out, or cause any kind of redness flare-ups after using.

You can purchase MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Cream from MAC everywhere or online for $30.

TL; DR--IT WORKS. LOVE IT. BUY IT.
