March 2014 Ipsy Bag and Target Box

I bough both the bag and the box (no affiliate links either)...

After being sick over the weekend, I was excited to hear rustling down at my mailbox at lunchtime. I walked into the sunshine, and down my stairs to behold not one of my packages I was expecting to arrive today, but both boxes in my tiny, black receptacle. WOOT!

I always forget that Target puts out seasonal boxes. I stalk G over at Nouveaucheap for awesome finds, and I was way too excited to find out about the Target box. So I quickly headed over and ordered it (for $5! A total steal--the mascara is more than that!). This is the box, lovelies!

Once I got the box out of the plastic (excellent job, Target, on ensuring I could tell if someone else got into it!), I could smell something good--almost beachy. It was the Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray. Awesome. I have never tried a texture spray for my hair. Four other items were also included in the box--
  •  L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara (I have heard good reviews on this so WIN)
  • Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo (I love dry shampoos. This will be great to pop in my travel bag. WIN)
  • COVERGIRL Smoochies Sizzle Gloss in 505 Tickled Pink (Lip product hoarder so duh WIN)
  • Jergens BB Body Cream Light (Never tried anything like this but might be great for my legs. Glad I didn't have to pay for a full size in case I hate it. It does have a chemical smell btw so WIN)
Included in the box was a coupon for $3 off any $15 purchase or more at Target. Since Target is redoing their beauty section to include some new brands and expand others, this is great.

Moving now to my FIRST Ipsy bag! Squeek!

As you may or may not know, Ipsy is a subscription "box" service that brings to your door every month for $10. There are generally 4-5 curated products in a special edition makeup bag, with at least one product being full-sized. You get points for interacting on the site after you get your bag. Those points can be spent for full-sized products.

Here is my bag for the month--

In it this month--

  • Nicole by OPI Nail Polish Roughlies  in On What Grounds? (A full-sized, textured, pastel teal nail polish. WIN)
  • Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer 0.4 fl oz (Deluxe sample size. I have sampled this before and it's too "glowy" for my skin tone MISS)
  • be a....bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in Bora Bora (Full size. Cute colors. Sure, why not? WIN)
  • bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready (Deluxe sample which is purse-perfect. Not a brown-toned pink and really nicely hydrating for the 3 hours it lasted on me. I want a full size now WIN OH SWEET WIN)
Below is a picture of the lipstick in action--

The bag is a custom-designed print with a water-proof feel. It is by a San Francisco-based artist. I completely forgot her name, but it is a lovely little bag. It has replaced my regular lipstick bag in my purse (yes, I have a separate lipstick bag and makeup bag. I am terrible lol).

Overall, both were excellent grabs this month! I am so glad I got them for myself!
